A Simple Guide to Finding the Best Roast Beef Every Time

On October 3, 2021 by Levi

When it comes to tasting the best roast beef, there are so many factors that can help to determine what is the “best”. The cuts of meat available and the methods of cooking each have their own particular quirks and nuances. Ribeye roast beef is one type that has its own fan club, and it often commands a higher price than the more common choices. This is probably because people are willing to pay a bit more for tenderloin because it is rarer and therefore more delicious. Many times a higher priced cut of meat will have a more flavorful and fuller flavor than the more common cuts, which is why ribeye may be considered the best of the best.

  • If you’ve ever roasted beef before, or if you are planning to roast beef this summer, then it’s essential to know just how long the roast takes to prepare. The shorter the roast time, the juicier the beef will be in the end. Even a medium cut of beef, which can be found in most grocery stores, takes about three hours to give the meat the necessary tenderizing for a good stew or roast. You don’t want to cut too short, however, or you’ll find that the beef falls flat and has no flavor. On the other hand, if you roast beef that is too long, it will be tough to carve and the natural flavor of the beef is lost.
  • There are different cuts of beef that are going to give you different flavors when they are cooked, but there are some cuts that go well with a variety of recipes. There are two types of cuts available; flat cuts and point cuts. Flat cuts, also known as round or square cut, are the best choice for moist roasts and for slicing on the grill. These cuts of meat have large juices that can cover the meat, making them good for roasting and for slicing with a knife.
  • The best deli roast beef is usually a flat cut. If you’re looking for loin roast beef, you want to find a medium to medium rare roast so that you don’t overcook the meat. Loin is the round part of the steer, just like the eel. The loin roast is prime rib, not the porter cut that most people get when they sit down at the bar and order a beer. Many people think that the porter is a cut of beef that is only good to eat and not to make great sandwiches.
  • In order to cook the perfect roast beef every time, you need to learn how to make the best cuts and how to season your beef the right way. When you’re shopping for this cut, try to find the cheapest cuts you can. You should also make sure that you cook your loin, perhaps twice, if you’re going to use it for a recipe where chunks are desired. Otherwise, you’ll end up with dry, pinkish meat and your guests will barely know the difference.

There are some smart points to remember when choosing the best roast beef for your recipe. If you have a choice, try cooking your beef on a grill or barbeque instead of in the oven. If you’re using pieces, make sure you cook them through and don’t slice them too early. If you’re using slices, try to make sure they’re fully cooked before turning them over to serve. Although these are all guidelines, if you follow them correctly, you’ll find that you have the best piece of steak on the block every single time!
